Appearance: Standing at 5'7", Marty is quite average for his age group. He is quite light aswell, weighing only 108 Pounds. He wears black jeans most of the time, which are neither baggy or tight. His upper body usually consists of a polo shirt, or a T-shirt with various different images on it. Marty has fairly poor eye sight, and therefore wears glasses. He tried contacts, but they annoyed him after years of wearing glasses, so he went back to spectacles. He has shaggy blonde hair, not going much below his head. It often covers his eyes, so he is constantly brushing it away. Marty has large aqua blue eyes, that people often compliment him on, due to their vivid color. He wears white running shoes.

Personality: Marty has a passion for Pokemon, and often dreams about training with all the legendary Pokemon he hopes to catch. A quick thinker, Marty usually has a solution for problems that arise.
Skills: Marty is slightly nerdy, and is capable of programming in a few basic languages. He also is quite good at communicating with Pokemon, they can usually understand what he is trying to tell them.
Character Flaws: Marty is very shy when he meets new people, even hiding sometimes if they look mean. He is also disobedient sometimes, doing what he thinks he should do, not what he was told to do.

History: Marty was born and raised on the beach side town of Cianwood City, along with his younger sister Chrystal. He had a fairly quiet life until he got into Pokemon training. Marty's father was a Pokemon Ranger, and his mother, Samantha, was a scientist. They were always at work, and he was commonly bored. The only thing he really did was read in his tree house. He had a few friends, and they hung out quite a bit, but generally he was stuck at home reading.

On his 12th birthday, his parents got him 2 Pokeballs, and he went out to look. Marty searched for hours in the areas surrounding the city, but couldn't find any Pokemon. Eventually he gave up and went home. He climbed back up the ladder to his treehouse, and began to read his book on computers. A few minutes later, he realized that most of his friends had gotten a starter Pokemon from Professor Elm.

Marty ran over to the Proffesor's Lab, excited. At first Marty was slightly scared of Proffesor Elm, but after a few minutes, Marty decided he wasn't so bad. Choosing a starter was a big decision. They all were cute, and seemed powerful in their own ways. He eventually decided on the Chikorita, he thought the leaf was really cute. As soon as he got home, he started playing with it, and attempting to teach it tricks. After a few hours, Marty managed to get the Chikorita to sit, but that was all. A few days later, he went out again and caught a weedle that was lying on a leaf. it didn't put up much of a fight, and he captured it fairly quickly. A few months later, his Chikorita evolved into a Bayleaf. It was much stronger now, and he won quite a few battles with it.

Three years later, after teaching his 2 Pokemon many moves and tricks, Marty learnt of a huge tournament happening in Khanto. He had always wanted to take part in one, and set off almost immediately. He was sad about not being able to bring his Bayleaf and Weedle, but still wanted to go. Marty set off the next day to take part in the big tournament.
